Perri grew up in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a Philadelphia suburb. His younger sister is singer-songwriter Christina Perri, who wrote the song Jar of Hearts. He attended Father Judge High School for three years, and Bensalem High School for part of the fourth. During his time there, he was very involved in the theater department, and in his junior year at Judge, had the starring role in The King and I.
Perri has a tattoo of Les Paul's signature on his stomach, which was tattooed over pen that Paul actually used to sign him.
For the last 11 years Perri has been playing, recording, and touring around the globe,[7] and has bounced between living in Los Angeles and Philadelphia depending on the project.
On December 18, 2008, Brent Smith announced via Shinedown's website that Perri would be leaving the band. It was followed by a video from Perri posted to Shinedown's official site the next day explaining that his decision was made for many personal reasons and exculpating the band of any blame.[8]
Citing his love for Guitars, Motorcycles, Tattoos, Piercing, and Photography as influences for the decision, In Oct of 2011 Perri announced his return to Los Angeles to open the 1st PERRI INK. retail store. The All-American boutique opened its doors for a soft opening on Oct 3rd, followed by a grand opening on 11.11.11.[9][10][11][12][13]
